About RegistryFee
RegistryFee exists because government fees are fragmented across thousands of state, county, and agency websites — and most calculators online stop at a single unexplained number. We build itemized estimates from each state's actual fee structure, show our work, and tell you plainly how complete each model is.
How to read our estimates
Every state page lists a "last reviewed" date and each fee line explains what drives it. Where a state's cost depends on local formulas we have not fully implemented yet — county property taxes, municipal excise taxes, transit district fees — we say so directly on the page rather than hiding it in an average.
Not official, by design
RegistryFee is not affiliated with any DMV or government agency. Estimates are for planning and budgeting. Your state or county office is the only source of an official quote, and fees change frequently — often every legislative session.
Found an error?
Fee schedules change constantly and we would rather fix a number today than rank with a wrong one. If your actual bill differs materially from our estimate, let us know at feedback@registryfee.com.
